Case study · Web app
dano
“dano” is a web app with sign-in by a one-time code sent to email — no passwords to invent or reset. Custom auth, a user account and a phone-ready layout.
The task
Passwords are a source of friction and leaks: people forget them, reset them, reuse the same one across ten sites. The task was a sign-in that makes users remember nothing, yet stays fully under the project’s control — no third-party “sign in with…”.
What I built
- Custom auth via a one-time email code — no passwords and no reset flow
- A user account after sign-in
- Own backend and database: sign-in logic and data aren’t handed to a third party
- Responsive layout — equally comfortable on phone and desktop
The result
Signing in is one code from an email: fewer barriers at the start and none of the “forgot password” class of problems. The project owns its authentication end to end, with no external providers.
